The Founding of the Club
More than two decades have passed since a small group of enthusiasts laid out a modest practice range in 1993, in what was then a badly neglected historic park. It was our first taste of the magic of the royal game of golf, a sport whose uniqueness has won over the entire world. Two years later, in September 1995, we ceremonially opened the first golf facility built in Slovakia in the post-war era, laying the foundation stone of the modern history of Slovak golf. At that time there were only a few dozen active golfers in the country, and the public often saw our pioneering efforts as something unusual for Slovakia, well outside the conventions of everyday life here.
The Founding of the Club
Fourteen years after the first golf course in Slovakia opened, the Black River golf resort was joined by a second resort in Malacky, where the Eurovalley Golf Park Club was founded at its official opening in July 2009. Both golf clubs belong to the single Black & White resort, so members of either club enjoy the benefits of two golf resorts within one membership.
Plans and Goals
It was the golf club in Bernolákovo that began writing the history of golf in Slovakia and that became the model for the golf resorts opened here in the years that followed. We have decided to repeat that history and once again set the pace in the quality of our services, our facilities, the club, the course and the entire golf resort.
In the summer of 2014 we launched a complete renovation of the baroque manor house at the Black River golf resort, which will become the new club home for all members of Golf and Country Club Bratislava – Bernolákovo. This manor house, Theresia Chateau, once a residence of Maria Theresa, will be the very picture of a first-class, luxury golf clubhouse, offering the finest services in the golf segment not only in Slovakia but across the wider region.
